About me...

I grew up in Whitby, UK and graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a BSc Degree in Food Marketing in 2000. I love to travel and decided to take a 'year off' after university. I came to Whistler for the winter to work and experience the great mountain town it is. I never did leave the area and now call Pemberton home!

In 2003 myself and now husband started an internet based inbound travel company in Whistler which we eventually sold in 2008. I wore many hats in the business but my main focus and passion was in sales and marketing. I also have a particular interest in SEO and internet marketing, which was so critical to the success of the business.

After selling the business I finally had the time and opportunity to pursue my goal of having formal training in web design and development. I graduated with a Diploma in Advanced Commercial Web Development at The Institute of Advanced Media in Vancouver in September 2009. I have a very solid understanding of the different tools available to build and maintain websites including hand coded XHTML, CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and a basic understanding of Premiere and Blender. My web development skills include a good understanding of PHP, MySQL, Action Script, JavaScript/AJAX and XML.
